Welcome Message

Ivo Starý

CO-CHAIR

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 22nd International Symposium on Novel Aromatic Compounds (ISNA-22), which will take place in Prague, Czech Republic, from 16 to 21 July 2028.

For more than five decades, the ISNA symposium series has served as a leading international forum for presenting and discussing advances in the chemistry, physics, materials science and applications of novel aromatic compounds and related π-electron systems. Established in 1970, ISNA has continuously brought together researchers from diverse disciplines to exchange ideas, share discoveries and foster collaborations within a vibrant and highly interdisciplinary scientific community.

The scientific programme of ISNA-22 will highlight recent developments in the synthesis, structure, properties, theoretical understanding and practical applications of advanced aromatic compounds and related functional materials. Contributions spanning experimental and theoretical research will provide insights into emerging concepts and technologies at the interface of chemistry, physics, biology and materials science.

Held biennially in a collegial and stimulating atmosphere, ISNA symposia are renowned not only for their scientific excellence but also for the opportunities they create for establishing new collaborations and strengthening existing international partnerships. In 2028, Prague will proudly continue this tradition, taking over from ISNA-21, held in Beijing in 2026.

Prague, one of Europe's most beautiful and historically rich cities, offers an inspiring setting for scientific exchange. Its unique blend of cultural heritage, architectural landmarks, and vibrant modern life will provide an unforgettable backdrop for the symposium and its social programme.

We look forward to welcoming researchers from around the world and to sharing an exciting week of scientific discussions, new ideas and networking opportunities. We are confident that your participation and contributions will help make ISNA-22 a memorable and scientifically outstanding event.

We look forward to seeing you in Prague in July 2028.
